The Intrepid Wind Energy Project is a 160.5 MW wind generation facility installed just outside of Schaller, Iowa about 100 miles northeast of Omaha, Nebraska. Aside from obtaining all site control, permits and approvals necessary for the construction, interconnection and operation of this project, Clipper also performed all preliminary facility design and negotiated the construction (EPC) contract and turbine supply agreement. Construction began in June of 2004, and was officially completed in December of that same year. Clipper sold the Intrepid project to MidAmerican Energy Company who utilizes the project's clean, renewable power to assist in diversifying its generation supply for customers throughout its utility grid system.
